It's an honour to have been part of the team behind feature documentary 'Birds of War', which is selected for the prestigious Sundance Film Festival, as part of the World Documentary Competition.
'Birds of War' chronicles the story between London-based Lebanese journalist Janay Bolous and Syrian activist/cameraman Abd Alkader Habak, retracing a story of love, war and exile across 13 years of deeply personal archives.

It was a unique challenge as a Sound Effects Editor to recreate the soundscape of this epic story that takes place across Syria, Lebanon and the UK. A good amount of footage were handheld camera archives on the ground level of the Syrian civil war, and whilst preserving the rawness and immediacy of the shots, a lot of sound work was needed to make the film feel cinematic and immersive, Through detailed recreation of the sounds of war, we vividly experience the scenes of chaos and devastation as documented by our protagonists, and ultimately the emotional journey that they take us on.
The film has been boarded by acclaimed documentary distributor Dogwoof, and I can't wait for people to experience this incredibly impactful story (in cinemas I hope!)
